Srinivas Joshi was born into a family immersed in music. The son of legendary artist, Pt Bhimsen Joshiji, music came naturally to him and Srinivas has now blossomed fully into an exponent of the Illustrious Kirana Gharana Legacy. His contribution to music has won him countless accolades and awards. In addition to pure classical Khayal music he also renders Thumri, devotional compositions (Abhangs) and many more. Srinivas’s musical integrity is clearly reflected through his musical renderings during his concerts.
Nishikant is emerging as an eminent musician in the Indian music scene. Music has been his natural inheritance as he imbibed it from his grandmother, legendary vocalist Smt Hirabai Barodekar. A Gandaaband Shaagird of Ustad Allah Rakha Khansaheb, Nishikant has developed an imaginative and aesthetical sense which is distinguished for its finesse in rhythm, versatility and eloquence. He is now under the tutelage of Ustad Zakir Husain. The remarkable depth in his Tabla Solo or accompaniment with instrumentalists, vocalists, dancers, Karnatic artists and fusion, speaks of the discipline and dedication of this talented musician.
