Pallavi’s training in Bharatanatyam began at the age of five and has been primarily under the guidance of her mother and guru Shalini Shivashankar. As a young child, Pallavi was also privileged to have been trained in the rudiments of this dance style by two other teachers of exceptional calibre, both, proficient dancers from Kalakshetra-Ranjini Ganesan and Lekha Sasi in Bangalore and Bahrain respectively.
Pallavi thus received a strong foundation in Bharatanatyam which has moulded and shaped her current style. For the past couple of years Pallavi has also started exploring other classical dance styles such as Mohiniattam and Odissi. Pallavi has presented several solo, duet and group recitals on various stages in the UK and abroad. She performed alongwith her mother in Canada, Latvia and India. She was the winner of the YUVA 2016 competition organised by Akademi in South Bank, London She is part of the faculty at Upahaar School of Dance, London, whilst also pursuing a career in fashion design.
