 The Tabla is a traditional Indian percussion instrument widely used in classical, folk and contemporary music accompaning vocal performances, dance, instrumental music. It consists of two hand-played drums—the Dayan (smaller drum) produces high-pitched tones and the Bayan (larger drum)typically made of metal or clay, creates deep, resonant sounds.

Rajkumar Mishra, a Fellow of Trinity College London, hails from the renowned Jaipur Gharana of Indian classical musicians and Kathak dancers. Representing the seventh generation, he has performed globally, accompanying legends like Rashid Khan and Rajan-Sajan Mishra.

Hindustani Vocal is a traditional form of Indian classical singing that originated in Northern India. It is characterised by intricate ragas (melodic frameworks) and talas (rhythmic cycles), emphasising improvisation and emotional expression.

A fellow of Trinity College, London, Chandrima Mishra trained with Ustad Munawar Ali Khan, one of the most sought-after teachers of the Patiala Gharana (style) and with Vidushi Sanjukta Ghosh who is also of the Patiala Gharana.

Mridangam

Mridangam is a traditional South Indian percussion instrument, widely used in Carnatic music. It is a double-headed drum made of wood and leather, known for its deep, resonant sounds. Played with both hands, the Mridangam creates a wide range of rhythms and tonal variations, serving as the foundation of many musical compositions and performances. It is an essential part of South Indian classical music, often accompanying vocalists, dancers, and other instruments.

A talented performer and teacher, M. Balachandar has accompanied legendary Indian classical musicians, including sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar and renowned vocalist Dr. Balamurali Krishna.

Carnatic Violin is played in a sitting position with the violin resting on the shoulder. It is played using a bow and is known for its expressive tonal quality, intricate techniques and complex ornamentations, such as gamakas, that bring out the depth and emotion of the music.

A Fellow of Trinity College, London, Balu Raguraman is a distinguished Carnatic violinist who has performed worldwide, collaborating with legendary figures of South Indian classical music. Known for his adaptability, he has worked with maestros like Dr. Balamurali Krishna, Dr. N Ramani, Dr. T.V. Gopalakrishnan, Sri Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman, and many others.

Bharatanatyam

Bharatanatyam is one of the oldest and most classical forms of Indian dance, originating from Tamil Nadu in South India. Known for its graceful movements, intricate footwork, expressive hand gestures (mudras), and facial expressions, it tells stories through a combination of rhythm, melody, and storytelling. Rooted in Hindu temple rituals, it is a highly disciplined art form. 

With over 30 years of experience, Guru Prakash Yadagudde has made a significant impact on the Bharatanatyam scene in the UK training over 500 studnets and producing renowned professionals. As a choreographer, his productions resonate with diverse audiences, effectively communicating through dance

The Sitar is a traditional Indian string instrument, widely known for its rich, resonant sound and distinct timbre. It has a long neck with movable frets and is played with a plectrum called a mizrab. The sitar typically has 18 to 21 strings, with a combination of main strings and sympathetic strings that vibrate to create its signature echoing sound.

Mehboob, grandson of Ustad Vilayat Hussain Khan and Ustad Azmat Hussain Khan, is a master of the Vilayatkhani Gharana style. Trained by his father, Ustad Yakub Hussain, and uncle, Ustad Rafat Khan, he now studies under Pandit Arvind Parikh. Recognized as one of the finest sitar players in the UK, his captivating performances have enthralled audiences worldwide.

Kathak is a classical Indian dance form that originated in North India. Known for its intricate footwork, graceful spins, expressive gestures, and storytelling through movement. It is characterised by a combination of rhythm (taal), emotion (bhava) and storytelling (abhinaya), making it a dynamic and expressive dance form.

Abhinav Shankar Mishra, a young Kathak dancer from London, is deeply rooted in a 200-year family legacy in Hindustani classical dance. Trained in the three major Kathak gharanas—Lucknow, Jaipur, and Benaras. Abhinav enhances performances with his technical expertise.
